Do You Have A Flat Roof?
If you have flat roofing on your residence, getting a new roof when it is needed is important. When a roof is flat, it won’t shed water as quickly as a pitched roof. Flat roofing needs to be able to withstand water without leaking, sagging, or compromising its overall integrity. The best roofing contractors use a membrane material for this application that will effectively waterproof the top of your home.
Here Are The Two Materials We Like The Most:
EPDM
EPDM, short for Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer, is a type of recycled rubber that goes over the entirety of the roof in one large membrane.
It seals out:
- Water
- Ice
- Everything else
EPDM is very lightweight and can last for 50+ years without any leaks or damage.
TPO
Thermoplastic Polyolefin is another commonly trusted membrane material that we use for flat roofing here at Tycos Roofing and Siding. TPO has a lot of the same benefits as EPDM but is made of a different compound with slightly different properties.
TPO is also very lightweight and also lasts up to half a century without any issues.
